October – Christmas shopping projections

At the end of October we conducted research amongst a representative sample of shoppers to gauge their feelings about this coming Christmas. Our top line findings suggest that total Christmas spending this year will be down by 15% vs. comparable research conducted by Business Blueprints last year.

September – New online reporting facility

During September we have been working on a new online tool for client reports. The system which has been named My Report Store (www.mrs.co.uk) will initially host a suite of reports from our mystery visiting programme however it is envisaged that this will be increased to provide access to documents from all forms of research undertaken by Business Blueprints for their clients.

March - Spring in the air

As hopefully the weather warms up, the 2009 gets into full swing for us here at BBL as we begin another major wave of annual shopping centre surveys. Over the next 3 months or so we'll be processing some 600,000 pieces of data from over 10,000 shoppers in shopping centres from the north of Scotland down to Devon and as far east as the Kent coast.

January – Getting the team selling

Our client, a restaurant company was experiencing a drop in volume and a static spend per head believed to be as a result of the economic downturn. Despite staff meetings and in house training concentrating on “skills” training there was little impact on the team’s selling ability and the introduction of a new VIP discount scheme to address declining volumes was held back by the waiting team not promoting it to guests. Business Blueprints were invited to look at how to improve the business.
