April – Understanding your catchment

During April we began an exciting mixed methodology project for The Heart, a relatively new scheme in Walton-on-Thames. This project includes a face-to-face exit survey amongst existing customers of the centre, as well as telephone interviews within the catchment. A final stage will involve qualitative research.

February - Spring plans well advanced

February saw final preparations being made ahead of the annual wave of Spring shopping centre surveys. This will see some 15,000 shopper interviews being conducted over the next 12 weeks. We’ll once again be researching schemes from Aberdeen to Exeter and from Cardiff to the Isle of Thanet.

January – More signs of recovery?

During January we ran a short on-line poll of Shopping Centre executives in the UK & Ireland.

The results give some further indications of optimism for the sector. Asked to describe Christmas trading in 2009 vs. Christmas 2008, almost two-thirds described it as ‘better’ to some degree, with around 1-in-5 of all respondents concluding things were ‘a lot better’.
